Within our 2-3’s and 3-5’s department the focus is learning through play as children continue to develop through the Birth to Three Matters Framework. Funded Pre School sessions are available at our Hoylake setting (please see below). Children learn language and communication skills through circle time discussions of familiar topics and a wide range of suitable literature. Social skills are developed by group activities taking place both indoors and outside allowing turn taking and sharing opportunities to be introduced. Children’s personalities and emotions are explored and encouraged with the settings ethos of care and respect for others being maintained. Knowledge and understanding of the world and their local community is made accessible to children via multi cultural and non-stereotypical role-play experiences and visits to local amenities. Children’s imagination is stimulated through creative activities both adult and child led. Basic mathematical concepts are introduced via sand and water play, science experimentation and everyday experiences thus helping children to develop their cognitive skills. Physical development is aided by structured indoor and outdoor activities, equipment and resources allowing children to experiment with and develop movement. Our in house tutors offer a relaxed and fun introduction to Modern Foreign Languages and Music. Parents are encouraged to take an active part in their child’s play and education with personal profiles being made accessible with discussions regarding their child’s care and education welcomed. Meal times are valued for their social experience. Children are encouraged to feed themselves with staff available to provide assistance as and when required. Quiet time allows for children to sleep or rest in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Children are provided with personal bedding and any comforts required are made available. Music and stories are heard in order to aid relaxation with staff providing constant monitoring. |

| Pre School | |
|
Welcome to our Pre School (Hoylake setting only) where funded places are available for children aged 3-5 years. Children attending Pre School prepare for future school life, experiences and education by staff introducing the Stepping Stone goals and objectives of the Wirral Foundation Record, Foundation Stage 1. Children’s personal profiles allow their progress to be recorded and mapped with Parents/Carers having access to this and being encouraged to share their child’s learning experiences and goals. We strive to form effective relationships with local Primary Schools thus enabling children preparing to enter school to have a knowledge and understanding of their future learning environment and teachers. Children’s personal profiles will be passed on to their future Teacher for continued progression of their development. Children’s language and communication skills are developed allowing them to converse confidently with their peers and adults. Independence and self-help skills are expanded thus encouraging confidence in their own capabilities and an understanding of their own development. Children are also encouraged to take an active part in the planning of their activities thus allowing goals, preferences and capabilities to be identified and understood within their peer group. Our in house tutors offer a relaxed and fun introduction to Modern Foreign Languages and Music. Our Pre School is inspected independently from the Nursery by Ofsted Early Years to ensure that the care and education provided reaches national standards. |
